Punchestown traffic delays on Tuesday as Kildare road is closed due to crash
There may be some delays for racegoers heading to Punchestown today after an incident caused a road closure in Co Kildare.
Gardaí have confirmed the L2023 road is currently closed from Mylerstown Cross to Watchouse Cross due to a traffic collision.
"Diversions are in place while the road is closed off and delays are to be expected," gardaí added.
The route is used by some heading to Punchestown and racegoers are now being warned to expect delays.
Over 20,000 people are expecting to attend the Kildare track today for Day 1 of the annual racing festival. The first race goes to post at 2.30pm.
