County Kildare Chamber estimates that the Punchestown Festival will generate over €100m to the local economy of Kildare.
Chamber CEO Sinéad Ronan said that the financial spin-off for hotels, bars, restaurants, and retailers will be very significant over the five days of the Festival.
Overseas visitors from the UK and around Europe will also boost the spend from homegrown visitors.
Ms Ronan said: “Kildare is gearing up to host over 100,000 visitors.
“The economic impact of the festival in the County is unmatched by any other event throughout the year, bring excess of €100 million each year and providing a much-needed boost to the local economy.
“We're especially excited to welcome visitors from the UK and around Europe, with the five-day extravaganza promising to benefit our hotels, bars, restaurants, and retailers across Kildare.
“It’s also very heartening to see numerous local businesses sponsoring races, underscoring community support.”
Formerly the Head of Public Affairs and Operations for the Chamber, Ms Ronan was appointed CEO in February, succeeding Allan Shine who had held the post for the last 12 years.
County Kildare Chamber is the largest business organisation in the Mid-East Region and the fourth largest chamber in the country, with a broad and varied membership base, from Intel, Pfizer, Keurig Dr Pepper, to homegrown SME’s like Irish Dog Foods and Ballymore Group.
The Chamber represents 400 members, who employ over 42,000 people within Kildare and the wider region.
