A massive 3,410 sqft mansion seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau from Daniel Kinahan is set to go under the hammer with a starting price of over €500,000.

The four bedroom property, located on a "corner site in a private, gated complex" at Coldwater Lakes in Saggart, was found to be the proceeds of crime two years ago.

It will be auctioned by estate agent BRG Gibson Auctions on December 12 with a minimum opening bid of €550,000.

The High Court was told in 2022 that the head of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group had acquired the property as part of a debt repayment from businessman Jim Mansfield Jr.

Kinahan and Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh had given Mansfield two suitcases, containing €4.5m, which were to be invested in property for the crime group but the deal collapsed when his finances suffered during the economic downturn.

CAB said that Mansfield later reached a deal with the kinahan cartel to repay them by giving them the house in Saggart.

According to the listing, the "grand entrance is marked by a grand staircase with rich wood banisters and grey carpeting".

The 1,490 sqft ground floor includes a spacious front room with a bay window, a dining/living room featuring a classic fireplace with a white mantel and a guest toilet.

The open-plan design kitchen "boasts a unique curved island with black countertops" with adjoining utility room and additional toilet.

The 1,920 square foot first floor includes four "very large bedrooms" with two ensuites and a main bathroom.

The property also includes "a spacious garage which has been converted, with mirrored walls and a sprung floor, ideal for use as a home gym, dance studio, or recreational space".

It was the first property to be seized from Daniel Kinahan after it was found to be the proceeds of drug-trafficking, who has not contested the case.
