Punchestown Tips: Willie Mullins could win every race on the card on Day 2

It could be a big day for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend on Day 2 of the Punchestown Festival on Wednesday. They saddle the favourite and Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Galopin Des Champs in the Punchestown equivalent and he'll take some stopping. Mullins has a big contingent on track on Wednesday and could win most races.

2.30pm - Maroto (8/1) - Willie seems keen on the chances of this one. He's 8/1 at the time of writing but will almost certainly go off at a shorter price. He comes in here off a good second to Lady Bresil at Clonmel in April.

3.05pm - Blizzard of Oz (5/2) - Another one Willie gives a great chance to as the 5/2 favourite. He beat subsequent winner captain Cody by three lengths in a novice hurdle at Leopardstown in March. A replication of that could be good enough here for powerful connections.

3.40pm - Mistergif (EVNS) - For the same trainer, jockey and owner, Mistergif appears to be one of the bets of the day as he follows up on a good fifth in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham and fourth in the Aintree equivalent won by Tuesday scorer Mystical Power. He's not at that stablemate's level but could be a good bit better than his rivals today.

4.15pm - Dancing City (2/1) - I love Dancing City in this race despite him going up against Cheltenham's Albert Bartlett winner Stellar Story. He was seven lengths behind that rival in Prestbury Park but has beaten him before, a comfortable 11-length success at Leopardstown in February. Dancing City also bounced back nicely to winning ways at Aintree beating The Jukebox Man and following the course of the likes of Mystical Power who stopped off in Liverpool before coming here, he can win again.

4.50pm - Jasmin De Vaux (6/4) - This Cheltenham Champion Bumper winner looks good but I'm actually opposing him and the Willie Mullins train in this with HARBOUR HIGHWAY (12/1). Recently acquired by JP McManus, this one's win over Mywayofthinkin at Navan in March was serious form. That rival was just two lengths behind Goldinthemountains, one of the best bumper horses in Ireland this season, at Leopardstown at Christmas. He effectively carried 10 pounds more than the winner that day, making Harbour Highway's win over Mywayofthinkin off level weights look very good indeed.

5.25pm - Galopin Des Champs (4/7) - It is very hard to see Galopin Des Champs beaten given the nature of his authoritative win in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. It's not impossible as the reopposing Fastorslow beat him here last year but the Willie Mullins star has looked better than ever this term. I think they're all playing for the place money behind him.

6.00pm - James Du Berlais (7/2) - Another favourite for Willie and Paul and could easily win this after a great second at Aintree and decent seventh in the Plate at Cheltenham. I'm opposing the all-conquering duo again here with SEDDON (14/1) and BRIDESWELL LAD (25/1) eachway. Both have good course form and look nicely weighted for this. Brideswell Lad returned to form just at the right time with a recent win at Leoparstown too.

6.35pm - Aurora Vega (3/1) or Fleur Au Fusil (7/2) - Willie Mullins has a strong crew in this with these two currently favourite and second-favourite. I'm a fan of Aurora Vega despite already losing to his stable companion. She ran well at Cheltenham but Aurora Vega is just beautifully bred and has been held back for this.

An accumulator on Maroto, Blizzard of Oz, Mistergif, Dancing City and Galopin Des Champs pays out at around 185/1 - it could be worth a fiver.
