WATCH: Punchestown Festival reveals its daily Best Dressed winner for Day 1

Genevieve Ryan from Roscommon was the glamorous winner on the first day of the festival

Style and glamour descended upon Kildare on Tuesday as the Punchestown Festival officially kicked off. As almost 18,000 people showed up in their best attire, some particularly stood out in the crowd!

On Day 1 of the festival, it was Genevieve Ryan from Roscommon who won the Bollinger Best Dressed competition. The Roscommon woman wowed the judges with her fantastic sense of style instantly as Head Judge Jess Colivet said: "Within 10 minutes of arriving in the gate, she was clearly the one to beat!

"A perfect blend of sophistication and elegance, showcasing how a keen sense of fashion and attention to detail teamed with a sustainable ethos will always be a winner in the Bollinger style stakes at Punchestown!"

For the judges, Genevieve's hat was the real showstopper. Her hat was completely handmade and topped off by her three-year-old daughter's very own favourite teddy's bow. This was the perfect unique touch to grab the attention of the judges.

Genevieve will go through to the Grand Finale on Friday.
